WANA (Jun 27) – According to a new directive issued by relevant authorities to Iran’s Law Enforcement Command, all foreign nationals without valid residency permits are required to leave Iranian territory. The directive specifically targets Afghan nationals.

Brigadier General Ahmad-Ali Goudarzi, Commander of Iran’s Border Guard, stated: “The regulation of undocumented foreign nationals is a public demand.” He emphasized that dealing with the illegal presence of foreign citizens, especially in border areas, is a serious priority.

He also announced new measures to prevent unauthorized settlement, saying: “Under the directive, any property rented to Afghan nationals will have its lease voided, and the property will be sealed, confiscated, and placed under government control.”

This order comes amid growing public debate in recent months—particularly on social media—about the presence of Afghan nationals in Iran. Some officials have cited economic and social pressures, as well as security concerns, as reasons behind the move.

However, no further details have yet been released about how the directive will be implemented or the fate of those who will be expelled.
