FIFA Deploys 300 Guards for Iran Team in Mexico
WANA (May 30) – The Iranian national football team delegation will be protected under strict security measures in Mexico. As the Iranian delegation prepares to transfer to the Mexican city of Tijuana to set up its World Cup training camp, a French publication reported today (Saturday) that the atmosphere of the Mexican border city has turned highly secure due to hosting the team.
According to reports, 300 security personnel have been assigned by FIFA to ensure the security of the Iranian national team delegation.
Previously, the Iranian national team’s camp was scheduled to be held in the city of Tucson in the state of Arizona, but due to obstruction by the U.S. government, the Iranian Federation selected the Mexican border city of Tijuana instead.
Now, L’Équipe reports that a few days before the arrival of the Iranian national team at their camp, the atmosphere in Tijuana has become heavily secured.
The security of the Iranian national team delegation is not only being provided by the Mexican National Guard and military, but FIFA is also dispatching an army of security agents to Mexico to maintain the safety of the Iranian team.
