First Conference on “Applications of AI and Robotics Science in the Nuclear Industry” Held in Iran
WANA (Jun 02) – The first specialized conference on “Applications of AI and Robotic Science in the Nuclear Industry” was held on Tuesday at the Atomic Energy Organization of Iran (AEOI), with the participation of senior officials, experts, and technology professionals. During the event, Mohammad Eslami, Vice President and Head of the AEOI, emphasized the critical role of AI in enhancing security, efficiency, and decision-making across sensitive sectors—especially the nuclear industry.
In his remarks, Eslami highlighted the increasing integration of intelligent systems in nuclear reactors and underscored the need for institutions to adopt four key pillars for the effective use of technology: intelligent components, smart tools, intelligent processes, and smart organizations. He described AI as a platform enabling intelligent monitoring, continuous oversight, and optimal resource management, stating that the future of technology management would be impossible without harnessing modern capabilities.
On the sidelines of the conference, officials visited exhibits showcasing the latest achievements of domestic knowledge-based companies in the field of indigenous AI systems and secure digital infrastructure. The focus of these visits was to assess the country’s internal capabilities in advancing technological self-reliance.
Concluding his remarks, Eslami called for a more active role from research institutes, specialized departments, and the private sector in developing intelligent infrastructure for the nuclear industry. According to him, the Atomic Energy Organization of Iran is progressing toward building a secure and intelligent organization that can meet the country’s future needs.
