Flights Suspended in Bahrain, Kuwait and UAE
WANA (Jun 03) – Flights across Bahrain, Kuwait and the United Arab Emirates were suspended early Wednesday following a sharp escalation in regional military tensions, with airports halting all arrivals and departures until further notice.
According to Arab media reports, operations at Bahrain International Airport, Kuwait International Airport, as well as Dubai and Abu Dhabi airports, were fully suspended in response to the deteriorating security situation. The decision reportedly came after air raid sirens were activated in several cities and air defense systems were deployed to counter potential threats.
Major regional airlines, including Emirates, flydubai, Air Arabia and Kuwait Airways, issued separate statements urging passengers not to travel to airports and to follow official communication channels for updates on flight schedules and travel arrangements.
The widespread disruption to air traffic follows a series of military developments overnight. According to reports, Iranian forces launched attacks against U.S. military bases in several countries across the region after what Tehran described as a U.S. violation of a ceasefire through an attack on an Iranian oil tanker.
The latest developments have heightened concerns over aviation safety and the security of air travel routes across the Persian Gulf, one of the world’s busiest aviation corridors.
Authorities have not yet announced when normal airport operations will resume, and security officials in the affected countries are continuing to assess the situation.
