WANA (Jun 05) – The spokesperson for the Football Federation, commenting on the potential delay in the trip to Mexico due to U.S. visas not being issued for the national team members, stated: “As of this moment, the flight schedule remains in place, and we are waiting for this matter to reach a conclusion through FIFA’s follow-ups so that the national team can be dispatched to Mexico.”

 

Amir-Mehdi Alavi, the spokesperson for the Football Federation, discussed the latest status of visa issuance for the national team members to travel, saying: “The main issue is regarding the issuance of visas. In recent days, complaints have also been raised by other teams to the competition organizers and the United States. Therefore, this matter is not exclusive to the Iranian national team.”

 

Passports Delivered to U.S. Embassy in Ankara

Alavi noted that a meeting was held yesterday between federation officials and FIFA via webinar. During the session, discussions regarding the U.S. visas took place with FIFA, and it was decided that the passports would be delivered to the U.S. Embassy in Ankara, which was carried out yesterday.

 

Flight Schedule Remains Intact for Tomorrow’s Departure

Regarding whether it is possible that the trip to Mexico could face a delay if the U.S. visas are not issued, the spokesperson for the Football Federation stated:

 

“The federation has submitted its requests transparently. All relevant protocols for the team’s departure to Mexico tomorrow have been completed. As of this moment, the flight schedule remains in place, and we are waiting for this matter to reach a conclusion, given FIFA’s follow-ups, so that the national team can be dispatched to Mexico.”
