Foreign Activists: Iran’s Defiance Is the Reason Behind U.S. Hostility
WANA (Aug 26) – At a time when calls for direct negotiations with the United States are being heard from some individuals and political groups inside Iran, many non-Iranian activists on social media have endorsed the Leader of the Revolution’s view on this matter.
Over the past two days, foreign users, in reaction to the recent remarks of Iran’s Supreme Leader, Ayatollah Khamenei, regarding the reason behind U.S. hostility toward Iran, have described Washington’s objective in nuclear negotiations as “forcing Iranians into submission.”
On Sunday morning, on the anniversary of the death of Imam Ali ibn Musa al-Reza (Shia muslims’ 8th Imam), the Leader of the Islamic Revolution, in a meeting with the people, described the advocates of direct negotiations with the United States as “superficial.” He stated:
“A government, a power has emerged in the world that expects Iran — this country, this history, this great nation with all its glories — to obey its commands.”
He also emphasized, while pointing to the Iranian people’s resentment at such an insult, that the people will stand with full strength against anyone who has “such a false expectation from the Iranian nation.”
Users on X, pointing to America’s support for Israel, stressed that the U.S. is trying to make Iran surrender to Israel.
Social media activists described Washington’s “hegemonism” as “the real battlefield” between the U.S. and Iran, and emphasized the necessity of resistance and non-compromise for Iran and all other countries of the world.
