WANA (Aug 19) – Iranian Parliament Speaker Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf stated during his visit to Baghdad that foreign intervention in regional equations is rapidly declining under a newly emerging regional order.

 

Ghalibaf initiated his official visit by paying respects at the site where General Qasem Soleimani and Abu Mahdi al-Muhandis were assassinated near Baghdad International Airport.

 

Describing the location as a symbol of the confrontation between right and wrong, he asserted that the U.S. government carried out the targeted killings after failing to halt the expansion of the resistance front.

 

He argued that the sacrifice of regional commanders has ultimately strengthened the axis of resistance against external forces.

 

Regional Dynamics and Security Cooperation

Emphasizing that the security architecture of the region is undergoing a profound transformation, Ghalibaf claimed that extra-regional actors are seeking pathways for a dignified withdrawal. He maintained that regional Islamic nations must pursue deep security and economic integration without foreign interference.

 

Parliamentary Itinerary and Bilateral Ties

The Iranian parliamentary delegation’s schedule includes high-level meetings with Iraqi government and legislative officials, as well as prominent political, economic, and cultural figures.

 

Additionally, Ghalibaf is slated to represent Iran’s Supreme Leader at memorial and Arbaeen observances in Iraq, conveying gratitude to the Iraqi leadership and public for their participation in recent commemorations.

 

Describing the ties between Tehran and Baghdad as historic and resilient, Ghalibaf emphasized that bilateral relations are anchored in mutual solidarity, resistance against external meddling, and shared regional security objectives.

 

Israel Will Never See ‘From the River to the Sea’ Dream Realized

Iranian Parliament Speaker Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf stated that foreign interference in regional equations is rapidly declining, emphasizing that the Israeli regime will never see the dream of “from the river to the sea” realized.

 

In a post on his official X account accompanied by an image of the site where General Qasem Soleimani and Abu Mahdi al-Muhandis were killed, Ghalibaf addressed them directly:

 

“Dear Abu Mahdi and Qasem! This is the fruit of your jihad and blessed blood. In the new regional order following the Ramadan war, foreign interference in relations between countries is rapidly decreasing. U.S. forces are seeking a graceful exit from the region, and the Israeli regime will not see the ‘from the river to the sea’ vision even in its dreams.”
