Foreign Ministers of Iran and China Hold Telephone Consultations
WANA (Apr 15) – Iranian Foreign Minister Seyed Abbas Araghchi and Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi held a telephone conversation on Wednesday to discuss the latest regional developments.
During the call, Araghchi detailed the current situation in the region following the establishment of the ceasefire.
He issued a warning regarding the dangerous consequences of provocative actions and positions taken by the United States in the Persian Gulf and the Strait of Hormuz, stating these moves will only further complicate the regional landscape.
The Iranian Foreign Minister expressed appreciation for the “responsible decision” by China and Russia to oppose a “one-sided and irrational” resolution proposed by the U.S. at the UN Security Council. Araghchi assessed this opposition as an effective step in preventing further escalation of tensions.
For his part, Foreign Minister Wang Yi praised the resilience and self-reliance of the Iranian nation during the recent conflict.
He reaffirmed Beijing’s readiness to assist in advancing diplomacy and bringing a definitive end to the war.
