Foreign Ministry: Iran Reserves Right to Respond
WANA (Jun 13) – Following the Israeli regime’s criminal assault at dawn today against Iran, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Islamic Republic of Iran issued the following statement:
In the early hours of today, the Zionist regime violated Iran’s territorial integrity and national sovereignty by launching attacks on multiple locations, including residential areas in Tehran and several other cities. These attacks resulted in the martyrdom of a number of Iran’s dedicated servants in the fields of defense, science, and technology, as well as innocent civilians.
The Israeli regime’s attacks on Iran constitute a violation of Article 2, Paragraph 4 of the United Nations Charter and represent a blatant act of aggression against the Islamic Republic of Iran.
Responding to this aggression is Iran’s legitimate right under Article 51 of the UN Charter. The Iranian Armed Forces will not hesitate, in full force, to defend the nation’s sovereignty and security.
Iran underscores the Security Council’s responsibility to take immediate action in response to this violation of international peace and security resulting from the Israeli regime’s aggression. Iran calls on all members of the Council to take urgent measures in this regard.
All member states of the United Nations are expected to swiftly condemn this criminal act of aggression and to take collective action to confront this dangerous adventurism, which unquestionably poses an unprecedented threat to global peace and security.
