Foreign Observers Praise Iran’s Advances in Radiopharmaceuticals
WANA (Dec 28) – Foreign reactions to Iran’s production of radiopharmaceuticals indicate that many international observers view the achievement as a sign of the country’s growing scientific capability and technological strength.
According to online commentary and media reactions, numerous foreign users emphasized that international sanctions failed to hinder Iran’s scientific progress. Instead, they argued, sanctions contributed to Iran’s emergence as an exporter of nuclear medical technology and a significant global player in cancer treatment.
On December 15, Ali Bahrami Samani, Deputy Head of Iran’s Nuclear Science and Technology Research Institute, announced during a ceremony unveiling the country’s latest research and educational achievements in nuclear science that 70 radiopharmaceuticals have now been added to Iran’s national pharmaceutical list.
One notable product previously unveiled is a rhenium-188 skin treatment cream, a drug that had been produced exclusively by Germany. Iran’s successful development of this medicine has made it the second producer worldwide, according to officials.
Foreign users also criticized leaders of some Persian Gulf states, accusing them of political dependency on the United States. Commentators further noted that Iran, rather than retreating under Western pressure, sought to transform sanctions into an opportunity, allowing the country to strengthen its scientific base and expand its influence at both regional and international levels.
