WANA (Mar 01) – Former Iranian President Hassan Rouhani expressed his condolences for the “martyrdom of Ayatollah Khamenei”, the Supreme Leader of the Islamic Revolution, in a message.

The message reads as follows:

“In the Name of God, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful

“And do not think those who have been killed in the way of God are dead; rather, they are alive with their Lord, provided for.”

I extend my deepest condolences to the Almighty God, to the great Iranian nation, and to all the freedom-loving peoples of the world, particularly those dedicated to the Islamic movement, on the martyrdom of the wise and esteemed Leader of the Islamic Revolution, Ayatollah Khamenei.

This noble and knowledgeable leader dedicated his entire life to the service of Islam and the ideals of the Revolution. Throughout his 36 years of leadership, he tirelessly pursued the goals of the Islamic Revolution, selflessly giving his life for this cause.

Finally, during the month of the martyrdom of his beloved master, he achieved the martyrdom he had long desired at the hands of the most wicked and corrupt regimes, leaving a priceless legacy for the Iranian nation and Muslims worldwide.

Undoubtedly, the grateful Iranian nation, with unity and vigilance, will apply the invaluable lessons of this great leader in strategic approaches to dignity, wisdom, and expediency.

The temporary leadership council will wisely and decisively guide the nation through these critical times. The armed forces, with strength, intelligence, and bravery, will make the enemy regret this savage crime, while the serving government will redouble its efforts to serve the noble and loyal people.

At this critical moment, national unity and social calm are more important than ever. I call on all political factions, intellectuals, academics, clerics, and the people of Iran to come together with a sense of responsibility and solidarity to help preserve the stability and power of the nation. The primary asset of Iran is the awareness, faith, perseverance, and unity of its people.

In this blessed month, I pray for the elevation of the ranks of the martyrs and for peace and solace to their families.”
