WANA (Jun 13) – A recent disruption affecting the systems of four major financial institutions was caused by a limited cyberattack, according to a statement released by the Coordination Council of Iranian Banks.

 

The affected institutions include Bank Melli, Bank Tejarat, Bank Saderat, and the Export Development Bank of Iran.

 

“Immediately upon identifying unusual activity, technical teams implemented the necessary protective and preventative measures to safeguard customer data and banking infrastructure,” the council stated.

 

Technical assessments confirmed that no unauthorized access to customer data occurred and no data leaks have been detected.

 

The council assured the public that all infrastructure is currently under the full control of technical experts, with the securing and restoration of systems progressing rapidly.

 

“Our top priority remains maintaining the security and privacy of our customers, and banking services will return to normal in the shortest possible time,” the statement concluded.
