WANA (Jul 23) – Following reports regarding the closure of the British Embassy, media sources have reported that France has also evacuated its embassy in Tehran due to rising concerns over recent regional tensions.

 

The development follows an announcement on Wednesday by the United Kingdom, which stated on the social media platform X that its diplomatic personnel had been temporarily withdrawn from Iran “following updated information regarding regional tensions and due to the security situation.”

 

The UK Foreign Office claimed that its embassy in Iran would continue operating remotely.

 

On Thursday, the UK Foreign Office further cautioned against all but essential travel to Kuwait and Bahrain, citing the “unpredictable” situation in the Middle East.

 

U.S. bases and interests in these two Persian Gulf nations have been targeted in retaliatory strikes in recent weeks, coinciding with ongoing U.S. aggression against Iran.

 

According to CNN, London’s updated travel advisory issued today came shortly after the British government announced the temporary withdrawal of its staff from Iran.
