WANA (Jul 07) – The funeral ceremony for Iran’s late leader, Ayatollah Seyed Ali Khamenei, concluded in the city of Qom following a large and historic procession.

The people of Iran gathered in the holy city of Qom in unprecedented numbers for the funeral of the late leader, displaying a lasting image of their devotion and loyalty.

Following a major funeral prayer ceremony at Jamkaran Mosque and a massive procession along the Payambar-e Azam Boulevard, the vehicle carrying the bodies was directed away from the dense crowds to begin preparations for their transport to Iraq for the upcoming ceremonies.

To pay final respects, the holy bodies were circumambulated by air around the shrine of Hazrat Fatima Masumeh before being transported back to Tehran for the next phases of the program.

Despite the departure of the funeral convoy, massive crowds of tearful mourners who had gathered since the early morning hours continued to march toward the holy shrine to pay their final respects.
