Funeral Prayer Held for Late Iranian Leader
WANA (Jul 05) – The funeral prayer ceremony for the late Iranian leader, Ayatollah Seyed Ali Khamenei, and members of his family was held on Sunday morning, July 5, at Tehran’s Imam Khomeini Mosalla.
The funeral prayer was led by Ayatollah Sobhani in the presence of large crowds of mourners, senior civilian and military officials, armed forces commanders, religious scholars, families of those killed, political and religious figures, and foreign delegations.
The prayer was offered for the late Iranian leader and four members of his family, including two women, one child, and one man.
From the early hours of the morning, large numbers of people from Tehran and other provinces gathered at the Imam Khomeini Mosalla to participate in the ceremony and pay their final respects to the late leader and his family.
The venue echoed with Quran recitations, elegies, and mourning chants, while attendees recited prayers and paid tribute to the deceased.
Following the funeral prayer, the coffins of the late Iranian leader and his family members were carried by mourners as the funeral procession continued.
The funeral and burial ceremony for the late leader, following several days of farewell ceremonies, is taking place today with the participation of large crowds from across Iran, senior domestic officials, and foreign dignitaries.
