Gen. Salami: Hands on the Trigger, Ready to Respond Immediately
WANA (May 28) – Hossein Salami, Commander-in-Chief of the IRGC, stated in a gathering: “If our defensive power is given the opportunity to manifest and our hands are untied, the enemies will realize what kind of storm will blow. The gates of hell will be opened upon them, and their interests will be threatened wherever they may be.”
He added: “Right here, I say to these Zionists, who continue their rhetoric and threats against the Iranian nation: if they make the slightest mistake or commit any wrong move, we will open the gates of limitless fire upon them—a fire whose flames will never be extinguished.”
The IRGC commander emphasized: “Our fingers are on the trigger, lying in ambush, and we are waiting. If they make a mistake, we will respond immediately so they will forget their past.” Salami continued:

“We are dominant in the defensive arena. We have always accumulated power to overcome the greatest power in the world. Our assumption has been that we would enter into a major confrontation with a great power, and we must prevail over it. The Iranian nation’s formula for overcoming difficult heights is not merely not being defeated, but defeating. And we will continue on this path.”
The commander added: “In the economic field and global politics, we rely on our internal capabilities by God’s permission. The past decades have proven that comprehensive economic sanctions have failed to produce a decisive impact on the people’s lives or the course of this movement.”
“This nation and country, at a time when all powers have stood against us, remain steadfast and firm. Our successful navigation through the difficult passages of modern history is due to the existence of a leader who, inspired by the soul-nourishing verses of the Qur’an and with knowledge of the immutable divine traditions, knows the wisdom of overcoming hard trials,” Salami added.

“Iran has a great nation—a nation that acts rightly in difficult moments, a nation that knows friend from foe, a nation that penetrates the depths of the enemy’s evil mind. Iran possesses a great history, a grand ideal and doctrine, a great leader, a great people, and a great land,” he said.
The IRGC commander stated: “Iran, as the heart of the world, occupies a prominent place in the geopolitical map. That is why this country and nation have stood against the fierce storms of crises meant to force them into submission—and have foiled the plots, from secessionist conspiracies to the imposed eight-year war, from full-scale economic sanctions to extensive information warfare, severe media offensives, cultural invasions, and near-and-far threats. And they continue to stand tall, firm, and resolute on their path.”
“They have placed us in a full-scale war. Sanctions were a war, orchestrated by the U.S. to force the Iranian nation into surrender. Political alliances were formed to exert pressure on Iran. But through the struggle, patience, endurance, jihad, and efforts of the great Iranian nation, these conspiracies were weakened and neutralized,” Salami stated.

He went on: “Our enemies possess the world’s greatest military and economic power. They control propaganda and media tools in both virtual and real spaces. Gold, force, and deception—these three elements are deeply intertwined in the political structure of our enemies. But the Iranian nation stands firm and resistant in the face of them.”
The IRGC commander added: “With their vile seditions, assassinations, and psychological wars, they target the minds of the Iranian people. They try to create mental confusion, distance the people from their revolution, and detach them from their proud past. They attempt to distort realities and attack the minds and hearts of the Iranian people in order to alienate the youth from their religious identity and extinguish the spirit of resistance and steadfastness—to take away political will and perseverance.”

“The Iranian nation has never decided to return to the dark history of colonialism. The Iranian nation is progressing, and the country is being built. All these scientific achievements are the product of the will that lives in the hearts of our faithful and passionate youth,” Salami stated.
He concluded: “The people are sacred to us. We are prepared to sacrifice ourselves in the path of their aspirations. We stand for this. The dignity and honor of this nation are our red line.”
