WANA (Aug 24) – Major General Mohsen Rezaei, Secretary of the Supreme National Security Council, emphasized Iran’s deep distrust of the United States during a high-level meeting with Pakistan’s Chief of Army Staff, General Asim Munir.

 

During the talks, Rezaei highlighted Iran’s security management over the Strait of Hormuz and stated that Washington must alter its conduct before relations can improve.

 

“The United States must change its behavior and take practical steps regarding the implementation of the terms of the memorandum of understanding,” Rezaei said.

 

General Asim Munir underscored the strong brotherly ties and diplomatic friendship between Pakistan and Iran, pointing to Islamabad’s extensive efforts to finalize the Islamabad Memorandum of Understanding.

 

Munir added that Pakistan remains committed to regional stability and has exerted significant effort toward securing the shared border between the two nations.
