German Ambassador Summoned to Iran’s Foreign Ministry
WANA (Feb 18) – The German ambassador to Tehran was summoned to Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Islamic Republic of Iran following what Iranian authorities described as anti-Iranian actions in Germany and statements by German officials deemed destructive and contrary to international law.
According to the statement, Axel Dittmann, Germany’s ambassador to Tehran, was summoned by Alireza Yousefi, Director General for Western Europe at Iran’s Foreign Ministry, where Iran’s strong protest was officially conveyed.
During the meeting, the Director General for Western Europe condemned what he described as anti-Iranian activities, particularly the hosting and support of individuals and groups accused by Iran of engaging in violence and terrorism.
He stated that such positions and actions conflict with fundamental principles of international law and the Charter of the United Nations and could result in international responsibility for the German government.
The German ambassador stated that he would convey Iran’s strong protest and dissatisfaction to Berlin.
