WANA (Sep 07) – Iranian Parliament Speaker Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf warned that any attack on Iran’s assets and interests would be met with a retaliatory response from Tehran.

Ghalibaf pointed to the region’s extensive and dispersed oil and gas infrastructure, saying that the production chain is highly accessible and therefore vulnerable to attack. He added that U.S. oil and gas companies operating in the region’s waters and facilities are similarly exposed.

The parliament speaker warned that any attack on Iranian assets would trigger a counterattack, stressing that Tehran had already demonstrated its ability to strike U.S. military positions.

Referring to previous attacks on U.S. military facilities, Ghalibaf said the results could be seen in bases that, according to him, had been rendered inoperable.
