WANA (Sep 02) – Iranian Parliament Speaker Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf met on Wednesday morning with Basem Naim, head of Islamic relations for the Hamas movement, describing the historical and struggle records of the Islamic Republic of Iran and the resistance front as deeply instructional.

 

Ghalibaf stated that the core essence of these struggles lies in the battle between truth and falsehood and in confronting global arrogance, noting that the spirit of resistance has manifested in new forms over the past 50 years.

 

Emphasizing that the true origin of the resistance front is rooted in combating oppression, the Parliament Speaker stressed that while Iran does not reject negotiations, diplomacy is merely a tool for struggle.

 

He warned that if Iran were to ever cease fighting the United States and the Israeli regime in its various forms, that day would mark a defeat.

 

Referring to talks between Iran and the United States, Ghalibaf stated that Iran emphasized ending the war against Iran and its allies in the resistance front under Article 1 of the memorandum of understanding.

 

This contrasted with the opposing side’s initial 15-point draft, which demanded a complete halt to Iran’s missile, nuclear, and resistance activities.

 

Stating that all axes of the resistance front operate as an integrated whole, Ghalibaf asserted that their path must remain on a fundamental trajectory to preserve the resistance front for the ongoing battle of truth against falsehood. He added that even U.S.-aligned governments in the region now concede that Washington is the cause of regional instability.

 

Addressing the failure of the Americans to implement the provisions of the Islamabad Memorandum, the Parliament Speaker stated that the United States must fulfill its commitments before Iran proceeds with reopening the Strait of Hormuz.

 

During the meeting, Basem Naim stated that Iran’s actions—both militarily and politically—have been a source of pride for the region. He noted that while many countries were surprised by Iran’s performance against the United States, Palestinian factions knew the enemy would be caught off guard when the moment of confrontation arrived.

 

The Hamas official in Gaza emphasized that Palestinian confrontation with the Israeli regime remains continuous and will persist until all remnants of the regime are removed from Palestinian soil.
