Ghalibaf: Era of Extortion is Over, Iran Will Not Back Down
WANA (Jul 08) – Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf, the head of Iran’s negotiating team, has strongly condemned Washington’s recent actions, listing five key breaches of a 14-point memorandum of understanding (MOU) by the United States and declaring that Tehran will not yield to external pressure.
In a statement published on his official X (formerly Twitter) account, Ghalibaf outlined what he termed the “major MOU violations by the US.” The five specific points raised by the top Iranian negotiator include:
- Violating Iranian adjustments in the Strait of Hormuz
- Persistent threats of further military strikes
- Reinstating oil sanctions
- Attacks on southern Iran
- Continued “Zionist aggression” against Lebanon
- Ghalibaf concluded his statement with a firm warning to Washington regarding the escalating tensions.
“The era of bullying and extortion is over,” Ghalibaf wrote. “It leads nowhere. We don’t fold.”
