WANA (May 07) – Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf reacted to reports published by the U.S. outlet Axios regarding the negotiations, describing them as part of Washington’s “psychological operations.”

In a post on X, the Iranian parliament speaker wrote: “The ‘trust me, guys’ operation failed, so now they have returned to Axios’ usual pattern of spreading fake news.”

Ghalibaf also linked the reports to recent regional developments, saying the publication of such claims was an attempt by the United States to shape the media narrative following what he described as a “major defeat” in military operations in the Strait of Hormuz.

He further criticized Axios, calling it “the main source of fake news for the White House,” and coined the term “Fauxios” — derived from the English word faux, meaning fake or false — to refer to the outlet.
