Ghalibaf: Graham Took Millions From Pro-Israel Lobby to Send U.S. Youth to War
WANA (Mar 13) – Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf, Speaker of Iran’s Parliament, sharply criticized U.S. Senator Lindsey Graham after the American lawmaker suggested he would urge families in South Carolina to send their sons and daughters to fight in the Middle East.
Ghalibaf, responding in a post on the social platform X, accused Graham of promoting war while benefiting from financial support from pro-Israel lobbying groups.
Referring to reports that Graham has received about $4.6 million in contributions from the pro-Israel lobby American Israel Public Affairs Committee (AIPAC), the Iranian parliamentary speaker wrote that the U.S. senator had taken “millions of dollars from Israel’s war-lobby in order to sacrifice American sons and daughters for the illusions of” Benjamin Netanyahu.
The remarks came after Graham reportedly said he would return to South Carolina and ask residents to send their sons and daughters to fight in the Middle East, comments that have drawn criticism from Iranian officials amid heightened regional tensions.
