WANA (Feb 25) – Iran’s Parliament Speaker Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf warned U.S. President Donald Trump not to make decisions based on what he described as incorrect information and analysis, stressing that Tehran has never pursued nuclear weapons and has no intention of doing so.

Speaking on Wednesday, Ghalibaf said he had previously cautioned the U.S. president in an interview that decisions based on flawed data could lead to serious miscalculations. He emphasized that Iran’s position on not pursuing nuclear weapons has been repeatedly stated by senior political and military officials and in formal international forums.

Criticism of U.S. and Israeli narratives

Referring to recent developments and conflicts, Ghalibaf described some statements by U.S. officials and reports on casualties and events as inaccurate, saying the narratives presented about Iran do not reflect reality. He also accused Israel of attempts to destabilize the country, adding that Iranians would not yield to pressure due to what he called a lack of proper understanding of Iranian society by its adversaries.

“All options on the table”

Ghalibaf further said that Tehran is pursuing both diplomacy and defensive preparedness, stressing that “all options” remain on the table in dealing with the United States. He said Iran is ready to continue talks if negotiations are based on mutual respect and the protection of both sides’ interests, but warned that any hostile action would be met with a firm response.

He also pointed to the historical experience of relations between Tehran and Washington, criticizing what he described as longstanding U.S. efforts to pressure Iran and saying regional security should be ensured by countries in the region themselves.

In closing, Ghalibaf said choosing diplomacy could lead to constructive outcomes, but warned that any repeat of hostile actions would trigger a tough response. He said the Iranian people would stand firm against external pressure and would not allow the country’s national interests to be undermined.
