WANA (Aug 23) – Iranian Parliament Speaker Mohammad Baqer Ghalibaf has warned that economic pressure on Iran and disruptions in energy markets could ultimately have consequences for the U.S. economy.

 

In a post on X accompanied by an image, Ghalibaf referred to recent measures by U.S. President Donald Trump to control the prices of goods in the United States, writing: “Importing frozen meat to control meat prices? Okay, maybe that will work.”

 

He then questioned how the U.S. administration plans to address other economic challenges, asking: “But what’s your plan for bonds? Are you going to import frozen yields? For housing, will you import frozen buyers? To address wages, will you issue frozen paychecks?”

 

Ghalibaf added that “a frozen and unimaginative foreign policy produces a frozen and stagnant economy.”

 

“The only thing still moving? Iran’s boomerang, coming right back at you,” he concluded.
