Ghalibaf: Speak Out and Take Action to End the Genocide in Gaza
WANA (Jul 30) – Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf, Speaker of the Iranian Parliament, wrote in a message addressed to the world regarding the Israeli regime’s crimes in the Gaza Strip: “Speak out and take action to end the genocide in Gaza.”
Ghalibaf, who is currently attending the 6th World Conference of Speakers of Parliament in Geneva, themed “Parliamentary Cooperation and Multilateralism in a Turbulent World: Peace, Justice, and Strong Institutions for All”, wrote on his Twitter page:
“Rise up! Speak out and take action to end the genocide in Gaza…” He stated: “The only thing that allows evil to prevail is for good people to do nothing.”
On Monday, July 28, Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf, Speaker of the Islamic Consultative Assembly, departed from Mehrabad International Airport to Switzerland, accompanied by several other members of parliament, to attend the 6th World Conference of Speakers of Parliament in Geneva.
The conference, focused on “Parliamentary Cooperation and Multilateralism in a Turbulent World: Peace, Justice, and Strong Institutions for All”, includes a general assembly, expert panels on topics such as the participation of women and youth in times of polarization, innovation for global peace, achieving the 2030 Sustainable Development Goals, the digital future and the role of parliaments, combating discrimination, and supporting vulnerable groups, along with interactive sessions with key stakeholders on networked global governance.
During this trip, the Speaker of the Parliament will hold bilateral meetings with heads of parliaments from other countries.
He is also scheduled to meet with a group of Iranian elites, economic activists, and cultural figures living abroad.
