Ghalibaf Taunts US Navy Over Intercepted Unmanned Submarine
WANA (Sep 09) – Iranian Parliament Speaker Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf reacted on social media to a recent military operation by naval forces of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC), claiming a major setback for the United States Navy’s unmanned underwater vessel (UUV) program.
In a post on platform X, Ghalibaf shared a comic-style artwork depicting an IRGC naval officer knocking on an American underwater vehicle, accompanied by the caption: “Knock! Knock!”
The graphic features speech bubbles declaring, “Well, it seems the most modern U.S. intelligent UUV just had a ‘knock’ on its door… from the IRGC Navy!” along with bold text stating, “U.S. Navy UUV Program Knocked Out!”
The artwork visually emphasizes Iran’s military surveillance and intelligence dominance over waters in the Persian Gulf and the Strait of Hormuz, framing the capture or interception of the advanced U.S. autonomous sub-surface drone as a significant blow to Washington’s regional naval capabilities.
