WANA (May 28) – A delegation from Iran’s Parliament, led by Speaker Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf, will participate in the 11th BRICS Parliamentary Forum in Brasília, Brazil, from June 3–5, 2025.
According to Ahmad Naderi, member of the Parliament’s presiding board, the forum—hosted by Brazil’s Chamber of Deputies and Federal Senate—will focus on “The Role of BRICS Parliaments in Building a More Inclusive and Sustainable Global Governance.”
The Iranian delegation includes:
- Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf, Speaker of the Parliament
- Ahmad Naderi, Tehran MP and Head of the Iran-Brazil Parliamentary Friendship Group
- Maryam Abdollahi, MP from Mianeh and Tarkmanchay, Vice Chair of the Friendship Group
- Mostafa Taheri, Chair of the Parliament’s Artificial Intelligence Caucus
Naderi emphasized the importance of the forum, established in 2015, as a key platform for strengthening inter-parliamentary dialogue among BRICS members. He noted that the expanded format of the group allows for broader representation and discussion of global issues affecting BRICS nations.
Key topics at the forum include global health cooperation, trade and finance, climate change, AI governance, multilateral peace and security architecture, and institutional development. Iran’s delegation will present the country’s positions on these matters during the event.
