Ghalibaf to Trump: ‘This Performative Diplomacy Has Failed’

WANA (Aug 06) – Iran’s Parliament Speaker Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf has described the recent remarks by U.S. officials as a “repetitive and failed form of performative diplomacy,” calling on Washington to accept realities and fulfill its commitments.

In a post responding to recent U.S. statements, Ghalibaf referred to what he called contradictory messages from American officials regarding threats and negotiations, writing: “A major attack is coming… wait, never mind, they want to negotiate.”

He said such remarks represent nothing more than “a repeated display of performative diplomacy.”

Ghalibaf added that “using intimidation, unfulfilled promises, and fake news as leverage for negotiations is a failed strategy.”

The Iranian parliament speaker urged the United States to “accept the realities and honor its commitments,” stressing that Iran does not need “more shows.”
