WANA (Aug 26) – Iran’s Parliament Speaker Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf warned that in the event of another military confrontation, Iran’s armed forces will abandon restraint and deliver a far stronger response than before.

He said recent missile drills by the Iranian Navy were part of a broader plan to prevent enemy miscalculations and sent a “clear message” that any new aggression would trigger escalation into wider political and economic arenas.

Ghalibaf stressed that Iran’s military is now better prepared than in the past, noting that many weaknesses identified during the recent 12-day war have already been addressed and resolved. With strengthened capabilities and lessons gained, he said, “our armed forces are ready to respond more powerfully than ever to any potential attack.”

He pointed out that the 12-day war and the nationwide mobilization of Iranians dealt a major blow to enemy designs, including what he described as a plan to fragment Iran. “The Iranian people fulfilled their historic duty by standing behind the military and political leadership,” Ghalibaf said, adding that “it is now the turn of officials to fulfill their duty toward this noble nation.”

The speaker underlined that reinforcing Iran’s defense power is being pursued with “speed and seriousness,” and that it has become a top national priority. He called on Iranian leaders to act with accuracy and timeliness in navigating the country’s new circumstances, stressing that the responsibility on the part of officials is heavier than ever.

Ghalibaf concluded that Iran’s defensive strength, combined with popular support, has shifted the balance in the country’s favor: “If the enemy does not repeat its miscalculations, it will not dare attack Iran. And if it does, it must be prepared for the war to spread into new domains and geographies.”
