WANA (Aug 22) – Iran’s Deputy Foreign Minister Kazem Gharibabadi directly addressed US Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent on social media, questioning Washington’s conflicting narrative regarding Iran’s defensive and nuclear capabilities.

 

“Mr. Bessent! Your math doesn’t add up,” Gharibabadi wrote. “You claim Iran’s military capability has been ‘dismantled,’ 100% of military factories have been ‘destroyed,’ and the nuclear program has been ‘buried.'”

 

The Iranian diplomat noted the contradiction in US policy, pointing out that despite these claims, Washington has deployed extreme economic measures against Tehran.

 

“Yet for this very same Iran, the largest financial offensive in history was required, mobilizing ‘all agencies and authorities’ of the United States,” he added.

 

“Is this a victory, or an admission of US defeat?” Gharibabadi concluded.
