WANA (Aug 23) – Kazem Gharibabadi, Iran’s Deputy Foreign Minister for Legal and International Affairs, has criticized Britain and France over their continued support for Israel, citing a warning by more than 100 senior British and French diplomats about Israel’s policies in Palestine.

 

Gharibabadi said the diplomats had warned their governments that Israel’s policies were moving toward “ethnic cleansing” and the “erasure of Palestine.” They called on London and Paris to take concrete steps, including halting arms transfers, banning trade with Israeli settlements, and implementing decisions issued by international courts in The Hague.

 

The Iranian deputy foreign minister stressed that Britain and France should not hide behind expressions of “concern” over the situation in Palestine.

 

He said continued arms shipments and any form of support for Israel constituted a conscious choice by London and Paris to cooperate in and contribute to the commission of crimes by the Israeli regime.
