WANA (Jun 02) – Iran’s Deputy Foreign Minister stated that the US President’s claim of dissuading Netanyahu from launching a major attack on Beirut, rather than demonstrating Washington’s desire for peace, confirms the direct role of the United States in managing the aggressions of the Israeli regime.

Kazem Gharibabadi, Deputy Foreign Minister of Iran, referred to the recent developments in Lebanon and the continuation of the Zionist regime’s aggressions in the region in a post on the X social media platform, writing:

“The current developments in Lebanon, Syria, and occupied Al-Quds have made one reality even clearer: the regional crisis is not the product of ‘isolated tensions’; it is the result of the crimes and impunity of the Zionist regime, which violates the sovereignty of states, renders ceasefires meaningless, and assaults Palestinian sanctities.”

He added: “The Security Council must move beyond the stage of expressing concern and issuing general invitations, and must adopt punitive and binding decisions against the Zionist regime. International law cannot be protected through low-cost and ineffective condemnations.”

Gharibabadi noted: “In this regard, the US President’s claim about dissuading Netanyahu from a major attack on Beirut, rather than being a sign of Washington’s pacifism, confirms the direct role of the United States in managing the aggressions of the Zionist regime.”

The Iranian Deputy Foreign Minister emphasized: “If the decision to attack the capital of an independent state can be changed with a single phone call, the fundamental question is why months of ceasefire violations, aggression against Lebanon, displacement of people, and threats to the sovereignty of this country continued with the political and military support of the West!”
