WANA (Jul 23) – Iran’s Deputy Foreign Minister, Kazem Gharibabadi, warned European nations that granting the U.S. access to their military bases or territory for operations against Iran would make them complicit in aggression.

 

Speaking following a meeting with 25 European ambassadors and chargés d’affaires, Gharibabadi outlined Tehran’s stance on recent regional escalations and condemned U.S. military actions.

 

“During a meeting with 25 European ambassadors and heads of mission, I outlined the positions of the Islamic Republic of Iran regarding current developments and the criminal actions of the United States. I emphasized that we inflicted a heavy defeat on the aggressors in the 40-day war, and in this new round of military aggression, we will decisively defend our territory and national interests,” Gharibabadi stated.

 

The senior diplomat argued that Washington’s military campaign has failed to yield long-term benefits while threatening global stability:

 

“These wars have yielded no strategic achievements for the U.S. and serve only to jeopardize regional and global peace and security.”

 

While acknowledging the stance of certain European nations—specifically praising Spain for adopting a “principled position”—Gharibabadi issued a direct warning to other European governments regarding host-nation support for U.S. forces:

 

“European governments must keep in mind that providing bases and territory to the aggressor will place them in the category of aggressors themselves.”
