Grossi Has No Role in Iran-U.S. Negotiations
WANA (Jun 21) – An informed source within the Iranian negotiating delegation said that International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) Director General Rafael Grossi has no role in the ongoing Iran-U.S. talks, despite reports that he has traveled to Switzerland.
The source stressed that the nuclear file is not on the agenda for the current round of negotiations and that Grossi is not present at the venue where the talks are taking place.
According to the source, Iran has no nuclear-related agenda in the current discussions, and none of the members of Iran’s nuclear committee are part of the delegation attending the talks in Switzerland.
The source added that the nuclear issue is not among the subjects under discussion and that negotiations on the nuclear file would only be considered by Iran once implementation begins on Clauses 1, 4, 10, and 11 of the agreement.
The source close to the negotiating team also claimed that the United States had requested Grossi’s participation in the talks, but the proposal was rejected by Iran.
