Grossi: We Will Participate in the Switzerland Talks
WANA (Jun 18) – The Director General of the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) announced that the agency will take part in the upcoming Iran–U.S. negotiations in Switzerland, stating that it will participate in discussions related to the implementation of the recent agreement between the two countries.
Rafael Grossi, referring to the meeting scheduled for Friday in Bürgenstock, Switzerland, said that the IAEA will attend the talks and is prepared to play its role within the framework of technical and monitoring mechanisms.
Grossi’s remarks come after the Swiss government previously announced that representatives from Tehran and Washington, along with regional mediators and several involved parties, would begin the first round of negotiations following the signing of the recent memorandum of understanding between the two countries.
According to released information, the meeting is considered the first practical step after the signing of the memorandum between Iran and the United States, and is expected to focus on the agreement’s implementation mechanisms and oversight frameworks.
