Hadi Saei Joins Asian Taekwondo Union Executive Board
WANA (Aug 26) – The Asian Taekwondo Union (ATU) has officially confirmed the membership of Hadi Saei, President of Iran’s Taekwondo Federation and two-time Olympic champion, in its Executive Board.
The ATU’s electoral congress was held on July 24 in Kuching, Malaysia, with representatives from over 40 member countries in attendance.
During the session, Saei was appointed as an Executive Board member by the Union’s newly elected president, Sang Jhin Kim.
Under the Union’s new structure, the Executive Board consists of 10 members — seven elected by vote during the congress and three appointed directly by the ATU president.
Among the new appointees, alongside Saei, were Zayed Khalifa of the UAE and Nagano of Japan. Jordan’s Nancy Adnan, an elected member, was named Vice President.
The ATU’s latest official statement confirmed the appointments, underscoring Saei’s role in shaping the future direction of Asian Taekwondo.
This development is seen as a testament to the growing prominence and credibility of Iranian Taekwondo at both continental and international levels, paving the way for broader engagement and a stronger voice for Iran in high-level decision-making within the sport.
