Hajizadeh, Top IRGC Aerospace Commander Assassinated
WANA (Jun 13) – Brigadier General Amir Ali Hajizadeh, the commander of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) Aerospace Force, has been assassinated in an Israeli strike early this morning after being wounded.
Born in 1961, Hajizadeh began his service in the IRGC in 1980. Throughout the Iran-Iraq War, he played a key role in many major military operations conducted by Iranian armed forces.
Following the establishment of the IRGC Aerospace Force in October 2009, Hajizadeh was appointed as its first commander. He held this position until his death on June 13, 2025.
General Hajizadeh was widely known for overseeing Iran’s missile development program and was considered one of the most influential military figures in the country.

In the early hours of Friday, reports emerged of multiple explosions being heard in various parts of Tehran.
At the same time, Israel’s Defense Minister declared a state of special emergency across the entire home front in the occupied territories—an action Israeli officials say is in response to “growing threats from Iran and the Axis of Resistance.”
According to incoming reports, most of the targeted buildings were located in residential areas and were non-military structures. A number of the casualties were women and children.
As of now, the assassinations of General Hossein Salami, Iranian nuclear scientist Fereydoon Abbasi, Dr. Mohammad-Mehdi Tehranchi, and General Gholam-Ali Rashid have been confirmed by official Iranian news agencies.
