WANA (May 03) – The Deputy Speaker of the Iranian Parliament has emphasized the inseparable alliance between Iran and Lebanon, asserting that halting aggression against both nations is a mandatory prerequisite for any negotiations.

Ali Nikzad, Deputy Speaker of the Islamic Consultative Assembly, highlighted the unity of purpose between the two countries, describing Hezbollah as the soul of Iran and Iran as the soul of Hezbollah.

Conditions for Dialogue and Regional Unity

The Deputy Speaker clarified that the condition for any past or future negotiations remains the guarantee of a total cessation of aggression against Lebanon. He stated that the Iranian front and the front in southern Lebanon are one and the same, rejecting any separation between the two.

Furthermore, he linked maritime actions to regional security, noting that the closure of the Strait of Hormuz was undertaken to achieve peace and stability for the Lebanese people.

Sovereignty Over the Strait of Hormuz

Nikzad underscored that control over the Strait of Hormuz is an inherent right of Iran and a non-negotiable “red line.” He added that Iran intends to reach agreements with regional countries regarding this strategic waterway.

Criticism of U.S. Policy

Addressing the actions of the United States, the Deputy Speaker remarked that President Donald Trump erred in his decision to initiate aggression against Iran.

He claimed the U.S. administration is now facing consecutive failures and predicted that they would come to regret the current economic climate, specifically noting a projected desire for oil prices at $120 per barrel.
