Handala Claims Breach of Israeli Cloud Giant
WANA (Apr 17) – The cyber group Handala has announced a renewed and extensive infiltration into the infrastructure of GNS, described as the largest cloud service provider in Israel.
In a statement, the group claimed it has maintained deep and uninterrupted access to GNS networks over the past 18 months, gaining broad control over the company’s systems. According to Handala, GNS operates as one of Israel’s major cloud companies, with an international presence.
The group characterized this operation as only “a small part of a much larger story,” asserting that it has been persistently embedded deep within GNS networks throughout this period.
Handala further claimed it had achieved full access across all operational and management layers of the company. More critically, it stated that it extracted and archived all passwords for customer virtual machines and servers, alleging that these were “shamefully stored in plain text on GNS servers.”
According to the group, more than 112,000 devices and servers have been quietly backdoored and brought under their control during this time.
Handala also claimed that the entire GNS supply chain has effectively collapsed, warning that no customers—including banks, technology firms, and ordinary users—remain secure.
Notably, the group had previously announced a major breach of GNS in December 2024, during what it called “Operation Martyr Reza Avad.”
In its latest statement, Handala emphasized that it now possesses undeniable evidence and data, warning that “every GNS customer should know that their data, access, and security have been exposed to Handala hackers for a long time.”
The group concluded by promising to soon release the full scope of the breach along with supporting evidence and details. It described itself as “a shadow looming over a world of fabricated security illusions,” adding: “We are where you least expect us.”
