WANA (Aug  31) – The “Handala” cyber group said on the anniversary of the death of Palestinian artist Naji al-Ali, the creator of the iconic Handala character, that all of its members are safe and in good health. The group also said it would release details of its activities and operations over recent months at an appropriate time.

In a statement, the group referred to the killing of Naji al-Ali and said the aim of the attack had been to silence the voice of resistance. According to Handala, however, the character created by the Palestinian artist has, decades later, become a global symbol.

The group said Handala is no longer merely a cartoon character, but has evolved into a symbol of resistance and the pursuit of justice for millions of people around the world.

The Handala group also reaffirmed the safety of its members, stating: “All members of Handala are safe and in good health.” It added that details of what it described as extensive actions and operations carried out over recent months would be made public at an appropriate time.

The group concluded by stressing that its activities would continue, declaring that “Handala is alive” and that the path of resistance would continue.
