WANA (Nov 29) – The hacktivist group known as Handala claims to have delivered a bouquet of flowers—signed in the name of Handala People’s Resistance (HPR)—to Israeli nuclear expert Isaac Gertz, placing it inside his vehicle.

The group says the gesture was intended as a symbolic message following what it describes as a major cyber and physical infiltration operation. Handala announced that it has paid out the first US$10,000 reward it had previously promised for information.

The statement was released one day after the anniversary of the assassination of Iranian nuclear scientist Mohsen Fakhrizadeh, a timing the group highlighted but said was not the only noteworthy aspect of its campaign. It claimed that “stranger events” are yet to come.

In a message addressed to Isaac Gertz, described by the group as a senior nuclear architect for Israel, Handala alleged it had gained full access to his personal data, academic records, and the locations of his residence and workplaces at the Soreq and Saraf nuclear facilities.

The group further asserted that it had breached both cyber and physical security barriers and warned that his “security has been compromised,” calling the incident “only the beginning.”

Handala also claimed responsibility for infiltrating the Soreq Nuclear Research Center, saying it obtained data allegedly linked to Gertz and has now published those materials online.

Additionally, the group released what it called a new list of “wanted” Israeli individuals. It reiterated an offer of US$10,000 for what it described as credible information regarding the whereabouts or hiding places of those listed.

The statement also referenced Unit 8200, Israel’s elite military signals-intelligence and cyber unit. Unit 8200, which operates under the Israeli Military Intelligence Directorate (Aman), is widely regarded as the largest single unit in the Israel Defense Forces and plays a central role in SIGINT collection, intelligence analysis, and electronic warfare. Its responsibilities include intercepting and decrypting communications, developing espionage and intelligence tools, and conducting electronic warfare operations.
