WANA (Jun 11) – The hacker group Handala has claimed that it gained access to information and communications involving several current and former officials of Israel’s foreign intelligence agency, Mossad.

According to a statement released by the group, Laura Gilinsky, Mossad’s former Deputy Director for Planning and Strategy, met with a newly appointed senior official responsible for the agency’s cyber operations at the David Kempinski Hotel in Tel Aviv.

Handala alleged that it monitored the meeting from beginning to end and obtained details about the discussions and plans exchanged during the session.

The group further claimed that several offensive cyber operations allegedly planned by Mossad against the infrastructure of a country in the region had been identified and neutralized before they could be carried out.

As part of its statement, Handala published an image that it said was extracted from Gilinsky’s personal mobile phone. The group described the release of the image as evidence of its ability to penetrate systems and devices used by Israeli intelligence officials.

In the final section of the statement, Handala addressed several Mossad officials directly, asserting that it maintains extensive visibility into their activities and movements.

The group warned that the scope of its access and infiltration capabilities extends beyond the information disclosed so far.
