WANA (May 05) – The cyber group “Handala” has released a statement detailing a complex and long-term operation targeting the Institute for National Security Studies, claiming multi-year access to the organization’s classified information.

According to the statement, the group was able to obtain sensitive documents in a “silent and continuous” manner. Handala emphasized that this breach was not an isolated incident, but the result of a systematic and carefully planned infiltration carried out over several years.

The statement also highlights a specific incident in the early hours of April 22, 2025. Handala reports that at 3:43 a.m., the entrance doors of the INSS building on Haim Levanon Street suddenly opened, allowing three masked individuals to enter and reach the secure basement level (Level -2) of the facility with apparent ease.

Raising questions about the institute’s security, the group stated that it had access to surveillance camera data as well as the movements of senior officials from Israeli intelligence agencies, including Mossad, Shin Bet, and Aman.

One of the most notable parts of the statement concerns the monitoring and recording of highly classified meetings. According to Handala, internal INSS sessions conducted via Zoom were observed and recorded over several years.

In conclusion, the group issued a warning, recommending that the institute urgently upgrade its surveillance infrastructure, particularly its CCTV systems.
