Head of Iran Space Agency: Three Iranian Satellites in Final Testing Phase
WANA (May 14) – Iranian Space Agency chief Hassan Salarieh announced that three Iranian satellites — upgraded versions of Pars-1, Pars-2, and the radar satellite Rad-1 — are currently undergoing the final stages of technical testing and are nearing operational readiness.
Salarieh said that in recent years, with the support of the Ministry of Information and Communications Technology, several projects related to satellite design and manufacturing, ground station development, and operational launches have been completed. He pointed to satellites including Chamran, two versions of Kosar, Hodhod, Fakhr, Navak, Nahid-2, Zafar-2, and Paya as part of these efforts.
The head of the Iranian Space Agency also said that the first experimental model of the “Shahid Soleimani” satellite constellation was unveiled last year during National Space Technology Day.
He added that several other projects are currently underway, including the Pars-3 satellite, the Nahid-3 telecommunications satellite, a radar sensing payload, Research-1, Research-2 and Research-4 projects, as well as the Saman orbital transfer block. According to Salarieh, new achievements in Iran’s space industry will be unveiled in the near future.
