WANA (Aug 30) – Rescuers with the Iranian Red Crescent Society (IRCS) pulled over 7,250 people alive from collapsed rubble during a 40-day emergency response in the recent conflict, IRCS President Dr. Pir-Hossein Kolivand announced during a commemoration event in Isfahan.

Kolivand praised the bravery of young volunteers, noting that teams maintained arrival times under four minutes even during active bombardment and missile strikes.

Addressing the agency’s international role, Kolivand emphasized that humanitarian neutrality does not equate to indifference toward war crimes.

He confirmed that documentation regarding damage to medical facilities and relief infrastructure has been submitted to international bodies, reinforcing that the IRCS provides aid without distinction to religion, gender, or background.

The ceremony concluded with honors presented to local rescuers and the families of the fallen.
