WANA (Jun 23) – In the wake of a direct U.S. military strike on Iranian territory, senior commanders of the Islamic Republic of Iran issued separate statements condemning the attack as a blatant act of aggression and a formal entry by the United States into war against Iran. According to Iranian military officials, this action will have grave, regrettable, and unpredictable consequences for Washington.

Lieutenant Colonel Ebrahim Zolfaghari, spokesperson for Iran’s Khatam al-Anbiya Central Command Headquarters, declared: “Criminal America, in continuation of its all-out support for the Zionist regime’s aggression, has blatantly violated the sovereignty of the Islamic Republic of Iran, directly entered into war with Iran, and invaded Iran’s sacred soil.”

He stated that the strike was intended to rescue the Israeli regime but would ultimately fail: “This hostile act was aimed at reviving the dying Zionist regime; yet not only will it prove futile, it will broaden the range of legitimate and diverse targets for Iran’s Armed Forces and pave the way for a wider regional war.”

Zolfaghari warned that “powerful and targeted operations” are imminent: “In response to this crime, the warriors of Islam will carry out powerful and targeted operations that will impose heavy, regrettable, and unpredictable consequences on you. God willing.”

In a pointed and sarcastic reference to the rhetoric of former U.S. President Donald Trump, he added: “Mr. Trump, the gambler! You may start this war — but we will be the ones to finish it!”

In a parallel statement, Major General Seyyed Abdolrahim Mousavi, Chief of Staff of Iran’s Armed Forces, also condemned the attack, describing it as a “clear act of aggression” and a “violation of Iranian sovereignty”: “In continuation of its full-scale support for the savage and aggressive Zionist regime, America has openly and directly violated the sovereignty of the Islamic Republic and invaded our sacred land.”

General Mousavi emphasized that this move has opened the door for reciprocal action: “The criminal United States must know that in addition to punishing its illegitimate and aggressive child [Israel], the hands of our armed forces are now fully open to take any measure against U.S. interests and military assets — and we will not hesitate.”

Iran’s military and diplomatic responses have now entered a new phase, signaling that Tehran is preparing for retaliatory actions that may surpass the current level of confrontation.
