National Defensive and Missile Capabilities Have Become More Effective
WANA (Jan 24) – The spokesperson for Iran’s Ministry of Defense and Armed Forces Logistics announced that the country’s defensive and missile capabilities have significantly improved in both quality and quantity compared to the period of the so-called “12-day imposed war,” and are now more effective than in the past.
Brigadier General Reza Talaei-Nik stated that lessons learned from that conflict have been systematically applied, leading to a strengthened and more efficient missile defense structure. According to him, Iran’s enhanced offensive capabilities now serve as a strategic backbone for national air and missile defense, playing a key role in deterring potential military threats.
He added that the specific conditions of that period have been left behind, and that the Islamic Republic of Iran now enjoys a higher level of readiness to respond to possible scenarios. The Defense Ministry spokesperson described these capabilities as a major strategic advantage for national security, providing protection for the Iranian people against any potential military aggression.
General Talaei-Nik further emphasized that national unity, political leadership, and capable armed forces—alongside missile power—have enabled Iran to possess a stronger capacity than ever before to resist and counter various forms of threats and conflicts.
In closing, he pointed to what he described as hesitation and inconsistency in the rhetoric and threats of Iran’s adversaries, calling it an indication of the country’s growing defensive and missile strength.
Nevertheless, he stressed that in order to preserve the principle of strategic surprise, details regarding the enhancement of missile capabilities in response to potential threats are not being disclosed, despite the fact that Iran’s missile and defensive power has increased considerably compared to the period of the 12-day imposed war.
