Hezbollah Deputy Secretary-General: “Imam Khamenei is a Defender of Fighters and Human Dignity”
WANA (Nov 12) – Marking Martyr’s Day, Sheikh Naim Qassem, Deputy Secretary-General of Hezbollah, reaffirmed the movement’s determination to stand firm against current challenges, praising the role of the Islamic Republic of Iran and its leader, Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei, in supporting oppressed nations and the resistance front.
“Imam Khamenei is the defender of fighters, human dignity, and the rights of the oppressed,” Qassem said. “The Islamic Republic of Iran has always stood by the resistance axis, and we deeply value this unwavering support.”
Paying tribute to the late General Qassem Soleimani, former commander of Iran’s Quds Force, Qassem described him as “the commander and hero of the resistance front,” adding: “We salute this great martyr whose sacrifices strengthened the path of resistance.”
Referring to the struggle of the Palestinian people, he stated: “We salute Palestine — Gaza, the West Bank, and Jerusalem — and the great jihad of the Palestinian people who fight for freedom. They have stood firm against grave atrocities, and Israel has failed to achieve its objectives.”
Qassem emphasized that despite mounting pressures, the resistance remains unbroken: “Friends and foes alike should know that we are facing three major challenges in this period, yet the resistance and its people will never be defeated. We either achieve victory or attain martyrdom. Today is the day of resistance and building the future.”
