Hezbollah Disarmament Will Never Happen
WANA (Aug 25) – Brigadier General Iraj Masjedi, Deputy Coordinator of Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) Quds Force, described efforts to disarm Lebanon’s Hezbollah as a “U.S.-Zionist plan,” stressing that it will never be realized.
“Neither the Lebanese people nor the Hezbollah resistance movement will accept such a scheme, and it will never happen,” Masjedi said. He underlined that Hezbollah’s weapons are “the arms of the Lebanese people for defending their homeland against Israeli aggression.”
Masjedi noted that the idea of disarmament is not new, but reiterated that it remains impossible to implement.
Pointing to the preparedness of Iran’s armed forces following the recent 12-day confrontation, the commander warned that any act of aggression would be met with full force.
“Our military capabilities have significantly advanced, and our forces stand ready to respond decisively to any threat,” he added.
These remarks come following recent controversies surrounding the U.S.-proposed document for Lebanon, which was introduced several weeks ago and whose most prominent demand was the rapid disarmament of the Resistance forces of Lebanon, Hezbollah.
